Meet Joni

In one of my earliest memories, my grandfather is reading me fairy tales. I could sit on his lap for hours at a time, even as a toddler, captivated by the characters and the decisions they chose to make. I started writing stories of my own in third grade.

After many years, several writing classes, and lots of late nights, I have finally finished two novels and a collection of 55-word stories. I am hopeful that through my writing you can enjoy the happiness and empathize with the tragedy that comes with our shared humanity.

I have been a sentient being, a thinking animal, on this beautiful planet, and that in itself has been an enormous privilege and adventure.

“The technical skills involved in the shifting points of view and the seamless outlay of medical information are impressive…this is such a fine book that it’s hard to stop praising it. It really is one of the most moving contemporary works I’ve read in some time.”
